Questions about official Hill County criminal records belong with the government office that maintains the record. Court files, sheriff reports, jail custody information, statewide criminal history, and sex offender registration each follow a different route. The contacts below identify the correct county or Texas office for the most common requests.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated reference site cannot retrieve, certify, correct, seal, or remove a criminal record. It also cannot conduct an official background check or accept an expunction filing. Contact the responsible government custodian directly.

Need an Official Record?

Choose the office based on the record, not merely the person’s name or the place where an event occurred:

  • Court case files: use the Hill County Courts Portal or contact the Hill County District Clerk, 80 North Waco Street, Courthouse 2nd Floor, Hillsboro, TX 76645; P.O. Box 634; 254-582-4042; fax 254-582-4035; districtclerk@co.hill.tx.us. The clerk handles felony and misdemeanor files for the county courts it serves. Counter hours were not published, so call before a time-sensitive visit.
  • Sheriff reports and booking records: contact the Hill County Sheriff’s Office, 406 Hall Street, Hillsboro, TX 76645; 254-582-5313; fax 254-582-3848. Send a written open records request to hcsoopenrecords@co.hill.tx.us or mail it to the street address. No separate records lobby hours were published.
  • Current custody information: use the Hill County jail’s official VINELink route or call the Sheriff and jail main number at 254-582-5313. A custody result is not the court disposition.
  • Statewide Texas criminal history: use the Texas DPS Criminal History Name Search. For identity or accuracy review of one’s own record, follow DPS fingerprint based review instructions through FAST and IdentoGO.
  • Sex offender registry questions: search the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. For an unincorporated Hill County address, call the Sheriff at 254-582-5313 and ask for the registration officer. For a city address, contact that city’s police department.
  • City police reports: ask the police department that created the report. Hillsboro Police is at 303 N. Waco Street, 254-582-8406; Whitney Police is at 102 N. Colorado Street, 254-694-2638; Itasca Police is at 126 N. Hill Street, 254-687-2020, police@cityofitasca.net.
  • Expunction or nondisclosure filings: contact the Hill County District Clerk at the court contact above. Eligibility and filing rules depend on the current Texas statute and the specific case.
